It had been several years since the last time that I had done pictures with Ashley and Steve (a lot has changed– their sweet little boy, Henry, was in utero last time and now look at him!) but one thing that came back to me very quickly was how sweet all of their relationships with each other were! Both times, I noted how authentically and easily Steve made Ashley laugh and exude joy. I noted the way they all really seemed to “see” each other and the easy way they showed affection for one another. I noted the ways Steve was such a steady and gentle father, stepping in and really enjoying his children’s presence. I saw how Ashley loved so well and had a quiet, warm spirit towards her family. They were real and authentic and I just loved watching our evening together unfold. Families like theirs are what give me so much enjoyment in doing what I do!
